Temple Running back Bernard Pierce had 151 yards rushing and 5 touchdowns and overall Temple rushes for 285 yards.
It is the first win for Temple in seven all-time meetings between the two schools.
Temple's offense gained 425 total yards against the Terps.
Temple's time of possession was 41:01 compared to Maryland's 18:59
Maryland offense struggled all game. Quarterback Danny O'Brien completed only 17-of-33 passes for 153 yards and one interception. The rushing attack gained just 45 yards on 23 carries. Leading rusher for the Terps was back up QB C.J. Brown with 29 yards in one series.
This game was all but over after the first quarter when Temple led 21-0 and they had a 31-0 lead at halftime.
Maryland, which produced only 240 yards of total offense, finally got on the scoreboard at the 4:31 mark of the fourth quarter with an 18-yard TD pass from C.J. Brown to Tight end Devonte Campbell. Rough afternoon for the Terps. I took a lot of pictures so here they are below. As usual, for a larger version, just click over the shot.
Hopefully the Terps recover in time for their next game, Saturday October 1 vs Towson at Byrd Stadium.
