Boston College 19, Maryland 17

Terps fought hard but the result was another loss. This time 19-17 to Boston College. BC's Montel Harris ran for 142 yards and QB Dave Shinskie threw for 227 yards in the Eagles victory. Maryland Quarterbacks Chris Turner and Jamarr Robinson, both playing hurt, threw for 216 yards. Turner was 11 for 17, 101 yards while Robinson was 9 for 15, 115 yards and a TD.

BC's defense sacked Turner and Robinson twice each and Kicker Steve Aponavicius kicked four field goals. Boston College finished the regular season 8-4 and 5-3 in the ACC.

The Terps finished 2-10 and 1-7 in ACC play. Now Head Coach Ralph Friedgen awaits his fate for next season.

Pictures taken from Section 19, then I moved over to Section 5 for the last quarter. As usual, click on a picture for a larger version. Next season I plan to use a monopod to steady my shot as I always seemed to move a little when the play goes on, resulting in a blur. Also I need to work on my techniques. It's tough sometimes when you think a play is going to go to one player, so you focus on him from your seat and the play is totally opposite what you think and you end up missing the shot. Guess that's why the Post and Times employ two and three photographers there so nothing is missed.

I hope this was a helpful blog to get the latest Terps news and it sure was fun shooting pictures despite the tough season. I learned a lot and can't wait to do it again next year.
